Muscle Team Adventure Challenge

The Muscle Team Adventure Challenge is an initiative of Muscular Dystrophy South Australia which raises essential funds to support children and adults living with a neuromuscular condition.

In 2016, Muscular Dystrophy South Australia has joined forces with Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello (South Aussie with Cosi) to offer a cultural and charitable experience of a lifetime.

This tour, hosted by Cosi, will see you journey deep into Cambodia, exploring the country’s rich, turbulent history and immersing yourself in Cambodian village life. In addition to bringing rice and supplies to a local village, participants will also be able to help build an accessible home for a local family affected by muscular dystrophy.

Participants will need to raise a minimum of $3,000 for Muscular Dystrophy South Australia in addition to covering the cost of their own travel. The cost for this 7-day / 6-night tour is $3,000 - which includes rice, supplies and building materials for the construction of the house.

Participants are welcome to continue fundraising until they reach a $6,000 target to cover all of your travel costs. Any additional will go towards their fundraising tally.

In Australia, it is estimated that 20,000 people have some form of neuromuscular condition. There are many children and families struggling with day to day activities – from teeth brushing to breathing independently. Muscular Dystrophy South Australia works tirelessly to support to these individuals and their families by providing essential services such as equipment loans, including life-saving Cough Assist machines, therapies, respite camps, advocacy and vital condition information. Through these services, we are able to improve the lives for children and adults living with neuromuscular conditions.

Muscular dystrophy destroys a person’s muscles and breaks their family’s hearts. These individuals have hopes and dreams, but they need your help to change their future.
